Hi WesH,
I do daily bird counts of the Salmon Arm Bay usually at more or less the same time and from the same places. I have looked over my figures for the time period October 1 to 25 for last lear and for this year. On a daily average basis I saw 465 Canada geese last year, and 654. My high count for a single day last was 800, this year it is 1200. My low count last year was 40, this year it is 250. It may be that the geese are more widely spread around the Bay this year so that it appears that there may be fewer of them to the causal observer. Or there may be other factors. I find that every day can be different and unpreditable, which is what makes it so interesting to me.
