Notes from the City Council Peanut Gallery

No Smoke_DanThe two presentations to council yesterday afternoon (August 26 2013) were of interest.

Dan MacQuarrie was presented with an actual notated city sign of the appropriately-named Dan’s bylaw that he has so long advocated for.

The second of the two presentations was from the Okanagan Regional Library. Besides the obvious increase in the circulation of electronic-based materials, it was interesting to note that Salmon Arm’s use of the physical circulation was up 3.6% as well. Other ORL facilities apparently saw a decrease in the traditional circulation.

Salmon Arm’s programming and staffing focus on kids and teens, as well as the library’s location were all noted by council.

Plus, I just discovered two  new (to me at least) Salmon Arm ORL blogs for youth. Check them out!
