This policy saved Canada during a subsequent referendum. The consensus was: the New Canadians loved Canada and wanted to keep it whole and provided the cement to hold this country together. Pauline Marois is now attacking that cement laid down in 1971 by the Trudeau government when they fostered “the official Languages act” and encouraged multiculturalism. The results of this test will gauge the mettle this country is based upon.
