Shuswap Theatre’s third and final mainstage production of the current season is ‘The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)’ . This comedy was written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer & Jess Winfield and is directed by Evelyn Birch. Evelyn has had her hand in many aspects of theatre including production and acting, this is her first time directing.
This much-produced, fast-paced, gag-a-second delight deconstructs all 37 of the Bard’s plays-plus the sonnets-into a single two-hour whirlwind. Come prepared to be part of the action as the audience becomes integral to this unique experience. Whether you love or hate Shakespeare, the boundless energy and enthusiasm on stage will be sure to please. As Director Evelyn Birch put it, ““A merry heart doeth good like a medicine” (Proverbs 17:22 KJV). Laughter is a universal response – all cultures, all ages, throughout time – people respond to life and its quirks with varying degrees of mirth. Whether it’s a little giggle or a belly-busting guffaw, we all enjoy and need a good laugh from time to time”
