Green Tape – The Economic Effects of Environmental Policies

The Economist article Green tape : Environmental regulations may not cost as much as governments and businesses fear (Jan 3 2015) reports on OECD data that suggests that “an increase in stringency of environmental policies does not harm productivity growth.”

The article goes on to list three possible explanations with the most intriguing one for me being that more productive firms actually further boosted their productivity under more stringent regulations.

An interesting read. Check it out!
